This Drop-In will focus on subtly adjusting the tools we’ve worked on with short form Improv to explore the “Dramatic” side of Improv. The point of the scenes and exercises in this workshop won’t be to “be funny,” but rather connect to each other in honest and transparent ways, and to see where that takes us.

SCENEWORK & RELATIONSHIP

Level 2 builds on the foundation learned in the Intro course, and propels you into the heart of improv – the scene. Through a variety of games and formats, you’ll focus on relationships, developing characters, and building your performance skills as you develop the playful improviser within.

IMPROVISED SHAKESPEARE PERFORMANCE

In this 4-week class, we’ll joyfully explore Shakespeare’s language and themes. We’ll take our hand at sonnets, insults, scenework and narratives with a comedic spin. This will culminate in a variety Shakespeare performance on Saturday, February 27th. Led by instructor Darren Held, online with Zoom. 8 students maximum.
