Making Improv Accessible for Everyone

At Held2gether, our mission is to make improv accessible for everyone. Improv training provides benefits that reach far beyond performance. It’s been proven to enhance listening skills, confidence and overall mental health.

In 2015, we initiated the Held2gether Scholarship Fund to assist new students with the courage to begin their improv comedy journey. The scholarship funds a full session of classes, thanks to the donations of patrons at our shows.

If you or someone you know in the Long Beach area could benefit from improvisation and could use a little assistance, we encourage you to fill out an application and open up a new world full of endless creative possibility.

Held2gether Scholarship Application

The Held2gether Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to individuals who want to attend Held2gether improv classes. Its sole purpose is to promote the benefits of improv to those individuals who have personal or professional goals and to continually serve the community in a positive way. Our mission to empower all through the joy and benefits of improvisation. 

The process for awarding a scholarship is very selective as we look for a balance of both need and motivation. There is a board who reviews each application. We are pleased to offer at least one scholarship per class session.

Scholarship Eligibility
1. Individuals may apply for a scholarship at any time.
2. Individuals may receive one scholarship per calendar year.
3. Scholarships will be awarded for full tuition for one class (up to $195). 4. Scholarships are applicable only for participation in Held2gether classes and have no cash value.
5. Individuals will be notified before the start of the class session.
6. Please email your application and essays to darren@held2gether.com. In the subject heading, write “H2g Scholarship Application”
